Ivan Lorenzo Collazo
Physiotherapist
Physiotherapist Ivan Lorenzo Collazo, originally from northern Spain, brings extensive international experience and a passion for sports to Queensland Physiotherapy. Graduating from the University of Vigo in 2018, Ivan broadened his expertise with internships at Rigas Stradins University in Latvia and the Catholic University of Uruguay. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Sports from Spain, enhancing his background in sports physiotherapy.
Ivan’s love for sports and culture led him from Spain to New Zealand, where he worked as a physiotherapist and immersed himself in the local community. In 2021, he won a regional Rugby Union competition and played Rugby League in New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty. With experience in both Rugby Union and a lifelong passion for soccer, Ivan has a rich sports background. He also worked as a professional surf lifeguard in Spain during the busy summer seasons, adding valuable hands-on experience.
With a particular interest in sports injuries and musculoskeletal issues, Ivan is dedicated to continuous learning. He frequently participates in courses, webinars, and medical research to stay updated in his field. Now a part of Queensland Physiotherapy in Albany Creek, Ivan is eager to share his expertise and help clients achieve optimal recovery and performance. Fluent in Spanish, Galician, and English, and conversant in Portuguese, Ivan enjoys connecting with people through language. Outside of work, you’ll find him playing Rugby Union with a local team, watching footy games, or surfing on the Gold Coast.
